College Pathfinders offers three program options to fit your expected graduation year and budget.
Gold Pathfinders
Our most popular program
- Can begin as early as 8th or 9th grade
- For families with the foresight to plan ahead for college.
- Up to 24 private sessions (plus phone and email consultations) throughout the four high school years.
What's Included
In-depth interviews on college preferences with student and parents; planning for rigorous course choices; help with organization and study skills; reviews of academic records; preparation of activities résumé; strategies for teacher recommendations; advice on making successful college visits; practice for interviews; preparation of list of colleges uniquely suited to student; advice on meeting deadlines and requirements for applications; SAT/ACT essay prep; major essay writing assistance; advice on making the final choice once acceptances are received; College Pathfinder’s “Coping in College” seminar. Each client also receives a copy of "Fiske Guide to Colleges" and Judy’s book 25 Months Until College.
Silver Pathfinders
An in-depth program designed for Juniors
- This program begins in December of junior year
- Typically 15-18 private sessions (plus phone and email consultations) between December of 11th grade and December of 12th grade, plus 2 sessions in the spring of senior year.
What's Included
Review of college preferences; reviews of academic records; advice on course selection; preparation of activities résumé; strategies for teacher recommendations; advice on making successful college visits; practice for interviews; preparation of list of colleges uniquely suited to student; advice on meeting deadlines and requirements for applications; advice on student-prepared applications; SAT/ACT essay prep; essay writing assistance; advice on making the final choice once acceptances are received; College Pathfinder’s “Coping in College” seminar. Each client also receives a copy of Fiske Guide to Colleges and Judy’s book 25 Months Until College.
Bronze Pathfinders
A condensed program designed for Seniors
- This program begins August before senior year
- Up to 10 private sessions (plus phone and email consultations) scheduled between August and December of 12th grade, plus 2 sessions in the spring of senior year.
What's Included
Time is short, so the following will be condensed into the available meeting times: confirmation of college
preferences with student and parents; review of academic record; preparation of activities résumé; strategies for teacher recommendations; advice on making successful college visits; practice for interviews; preparation of a selected list of colleges uniquely suited to student; advice on meeting deadlines and requirements for applications; advice on student-prepared applications; essay writing assistance; advice on making the final choice once acceptance letters are received; and College Pathfinder’s “Coping in College” seminar.
Please note: There is a 10% reduction for a second child from the same family.
Scholarships are available for students who meet federal low-income household guidelines.
